New Year, Same You, New Perspective

Happy New Year, Esscential Beauties! I trust that you will seek and bring about love, peace, joy and wellness in 2023. We are in day 2 of the New Year and many of you have begun tackling your resolutions and chipping away at your goals. While doing this, I encourage you to pace yourself. Don’t focus on all of them at one time. And don’t punish yourself if you don’t complete your checklist by December 31. Remember—READY, SET, PACE.

When you pressure yourself into keeping these resolutions, you tend to stress out, and stress disrupts your nervous system. It also causes increased oil production in your skin glands, which may lead to clogged pores and acne breakouts. Stress is also connected to inflammation, which can cause psoriasis, eczema, and rosacea flare-ups.

In this New Year, while you’re working on the same you, I challenge you to gain a new perspective—get out of your head and decrease your stress levels. Here are some simple tips for easing your stress levels while accomplishing your resolutions and goals.

  1. Get enough sleep and rest. A rested mind and body decrease stress and improve awareness.

  2. Maintain a healthy diet. Load up on fruits and veggies and skip the processed foods, which cause inflammation.

  3. Exercise regularly. Exercise reduces stress and releases the good hormones that will improve your mood.

  4. Maintain a healthy skin care regimen. Clean and moisturize your skin daily.

Remember—nothing changes if nothing changes. Let’s look to a new perspective!
