Fall Is Calling…And So Is Your Dry Skin

Happy Autumn, Esscential Beauties!

This year, summer clocked out and autumn clocked in on schedule. As our bodies adjust to cooler temperatures and dryer air, we must be mindful to do an inventory of our skin. Ask yourself—Did I expose my skin to excessive sun during the summer? Was I exposed to the smog from the Canadian wildfires? Did I consume less water and more caffeine or alcohol than usual? If yes, then you are probably experiencing dry skin now.

The human body has seven elimination systems and the skin is the body’s largest channel of elimination. As the largest organ of the body, the skin defends and protects. That’s why we must do our due diligence to keep it healthy, especially when we transition from one season to the next.

Autumn often brings dryer air, which promotes dry skin. The first step to adding moisture to your skin is to detoxify it. One of the easiest ways to do this is by using bath salts. Bath salts are a natural exfoliant, which draw out toxins, stimulate blood circulation, relax muscles, and reduce aches and pains. I invite you to try True Esscents Bath Salts, a formulated blend of Dead Sea Salt, Epsom Salt and Himalayan Pink Salt. Our bath salts are packed with minerals such as potassium, which regulates the moisture level in our skin; magnesium, which promotes healthy sleep, muscles and joints; calcium, which preserves a healthy skin glow and supports the creation of sebum; and copper, which increases collagen production.

While you may have a daily skin regime, I urge you to include more moisturizing products during cooler months. Additionally, I would like to share a list of essential oils that prevent and treat dry skin, as well as certain skin conditions.
